Albert Einstein Quote

“As a child I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene.... No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life.”

Wow -- interesting!

Einstein was careful in his wording. I fear the lesser person might read the word 'myth' as meaning 'truth' and forget the usefulness of myth as metaphor. It's easy to forget that it's the metaphor that applies just as it does in fairy tales.

He understood more than he let on.

From this and other statements he made it seems that Albert was not far from the kingdom himself. Being Jewish, kind words concerning the Nazarene are not the unusal fare.I had to overcome my own misconceptions of who Jesus was. God was gracious to me and He opened my eyes so I could see Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew) clearly. His grace is still quite amazing.

This quote sounds more inspirational than mytical and is not about comparing truth with fiction but sounds more like a concisive observation that's totally noncondecending and very personal.

I have read most of Einsteins quotes concerning the matter of God and Science. He concludes that everything from the entire universe to the most infinitesmal details points to God and a creator. Then he says for such a creator of such wonder, power and majesty, to whom a thousand years and dimensions are as one to be concerned with mankind is a child-like assertion. Now to me these powers or attributes of God are the very attributes that would make Him able to be personal with every detail of mankind. For something to be created in such intimate detail by a creator who isnt intimate makes no sense.

The Brightest Mind of the 20th Century saw the answer all along in Christ

Mike, Norwalk

Such substantive cognition, sensorial understanding and the gestalt whole recognition is rarely realized. It is my first hand testimony and experience that the subject matter of the quote is self evident truth.

Well spoken!

Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown

As an adult, I look for  guidance for love. The child quotes the Bible, Jesus, whatever but "can't help with love." I have to ask, in your the expressing Bible, Jesus or whatever, if you can't help me with the true  meaning of love can you really help me with anything?

One of the closest guides to love is a message from a mythical, speaking of myths, Planet of the Apes astronaut named Taylor who left a world with "much love making, but no love."
