I guess in context and a greater scheme of things, as eluded to by Rand, there is a truth there somewhere - right now missing the time for a scavenger hunt ;-)

My guess is that Ayn Rand is referring to 'altruism' which she considered to be the driving force behind totalitarianism -- whether communistic or religious.

Morality far transcends intellect.

It is the virtually intractable pride of Fallen Man that is the true tragedy of human existence, for pride conceals a multitude of sins.

In a rescue opp, when is it right to lie, cheat or steal ? Moderation is key to a life of moral responsibility. For a piece of bread man will betray. Honesty and humility of the faithful brings grace in time of need. Ayn Rand misses the mark from time to time, secular humanistic in nature.
