This is a good list, even if it is highly abbreviated... there are many other sources which are as good to study... some religious, and some not... now about that "education president" and that party that takes food out of the mouths of hungry children... guess it is pretty clear how they feel about our children and raising them with good values...

I believe we muddy the water when we designate things. All you need in a house is a good heart and integrity, and in your schools, a comprehensive liberal education - the rest will follow.

Robert your reasoning would say that if you go on a trip all you need is a good heart, a steady driver, and an education how to drive, and you would be able to find your way. (the Bible is the map).

Ben Franklin couldn't have said it any better. How clear does one need to make it? A guide for a moral compass and a guide to current events, right in your home. Hmmm. Refreshing. Ignore this and you will lose your liberties by the abuse of them.

We are blessed to be born in a nation where no one has to go hungry. Benjamin Franklin was a prime example of what American stands for. Our founders believed in a strong people, who take responsibility for their own actions and well-being.

Codswallop  this is what make civilization go down the tubes. With this kind of thinking you become automatons and Uruk will follow.

Nope. Ben was part of the enlightenment, you can't get further then the principles contained in it.

A newspaper; (hmmm, I guess there is a newspaper somewhere with no-spin fact)? ? ?  By school, how many NONecclesiastical seminaries are there out there? Where is true individual sovereignty, inalienable rights and liberty even being discussed?

Absolutely correct.

We gave government a monopoly on education and thereby guaranteed there would be very few good schools.
