False Carroll Quigley Quote

“The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is the American Branch of a society which originated in England... (and) ...believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one-world rule established. I know of the operations of this network because I have studied it for twenty years, and was permitted in the early 1960's to examine its papers and secret records. … I believe its role in history is significant enough to be known.”

~ Carroll Quigley

Partially false: First sentence is not found in Tragedy and Hope, whereas the rest of the quote is published in Quigley's book "Tragedy & Hope", 1966

I believe that I and others who love the USA have lost it. The globalists have all bases covered; Congress, the executive, the courts including the Supreme Ct., major media, professors, even Mr Sweeney, honcho of the AFL-CIO.

I'm not sure what there is to rate here. I could give a thumbs down for the NWO organizations that are referenced, as they are extremely destructive to freedom and liberty but, there is no statement of action, only of existence.

My Name, Your Town,USA.

I believe the CFR should be OBLITERATED- at least, for The American Republic! I do not know of ANY ONE American who is Not a policy maker that Fully supports the CFR.

Perhaps after reading the report, based on twenty years of study, I may have an opinion. I don't believe CFR has any power it's just a resource/think tank, and going on our history with foreign affairs they need to do a lot more thinking than tanking.

If we doubt that the CFR is intricately woven into the American fabric, take a look at the membership list. Politicians, CEO's and on and on... The CFR is pushing its agenda at every imaginable level. http://www.stopthenorthamericanunion.com/CFRMembers.html

The CFR is not a think tank! It was founded by the Rockefellers and other internationalist bankers -- the same folks that have brought us the Fed, IMF, and UN. Sooner or later you will have to face it -- world government is the stated goal of all these PRIVATE organizations under the control of the central banks that simply print up the world's currency and 'loan' it at interest. The CFR chooses our presidential candidates, controls the mainstream media, sets up arms deals for new wars, promotes massive depopulation of the planet, props up big pharma and other 'federal' organizations that are purposefully poisoning us literally and figuratively. Their actions are rarely if ever exposed by the press. They are the shadow government of the US with more power than most realize. With members in every branch of government and aristocratic society, they are 'the elite ruling class' that influence nearly every aspect of American society including education, health, politics, military, energy, food, communications, agriculture, corporate affairs, and on and on. Their goal is a socialist world, and the catalyst is the subversion of the US government, American Common Law, and the very idea that the rights of man are inherent and unalienable. They are the true fascists influencing both political parties to implement fascist policies at each end of the spectrum. If you consider yourself a Republican or a Democrat, you very likely support some aspect of their fascist agenda. Waking up will not be enough, we must deeply study the activities of the CFR to understand that our subjugation and death is their undeniable goal.

Quigley's book was intended for an elitist readership, but when the John Birch Society began quoting it, the "good guys" started looking for copies of the book to expose the elitist conspiracy. Quigley says himself that he could not get the book published again, that the publisher lied repeatedly to him about the demand for a reprinting, and it never happened even tho Quigley provided photocopies of public requests from libraries across the nation. Only then did the publisher stop denying there was enough demand. Today a copy of the book, if available, draws a large sum. For more information, consult The Creature From Jekyll Island, by G Edward Griffin, and look up Quigley in the index.

    Sounds like a conspiracy nut.

I found a copy of the book at a local library. The catalog says there are several copies of it. It is over 1300 pages.

Archer, this is their Mission Statement: The Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries.

Dig deeper, RobertSRQ. If the CFR is indeed the shadow government that I assert, then I do not think it will be obvious from their 'mission statement.' BTW, the term 'mission statement' was coined many decades after the CFR's founding. Read some of their early publications -- global governance is their objective. Quigley was not condemning the CFR's intent, mind you, as he is all for the globalist agenda. He was merely researching the organization. If you are pro-UN, pro-IMF, then you are pro-globalism -- all were founded by the same people. If you think the Fed's purpose is world peace then you are in a dream world. Why shouldn't the People own the Fed and its profits used for public services? After all, the US govt now owes the Fed trillions -- more than the amount of money in circulation. The rivers of interest go into the Fed's private coffers. If the government is going to borrow billions, why not borrow it from a central bank owned by the People? Hell, the interest payments alone would pay for every govt service available today and the People would not have to pay one penny in taxes!!!

I hope all thinking Americans actually read the book. Quigley was a member of the CFR, and an insider, NOT some "conspiracy nut". That is the line put out by the NWO Money Masters to get people to dismiss unpleasant truths. FedNix

This quote is fake. The second sentence is real, but he was talking about a different group not CFR. The first sentence is made up.

Thank you, Anonymous, we have researched the quote and indeed the first sentence is not found anywhere in 'Tragedy and Hope' -- we have searched both the first edition in 1966 and the 1974 edition (with significant edits made to the first edition). We have added the correct quote here. http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Carroll.Quigley.Quote.BEC7

Editor, what is different between the two editions of this book?
