Clarence S. Darrow Quote

“If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach it in the public school, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private school . . . At the next session you may ban books and newspapers. Soon you may set Catholic against Protestant and Protestant against Protestant, and try to foist your own religion upon the minds of men.”

It should be a crime to teach immoral socialism in school...but it isn't. Our schools are without doubt nothing more than indoctrination centers for the state. It's never been more important to teach your kids to be very suspicious of what their teachers are doing.

Let's get rid of the department of education in DC and let the state and locals decide what they want their students to learn or not learn.

J Carlton and Cal said well. Check out the old movie "Inherit the Wind" with Spencer Tracy playing Clarence Darrow.

Hey, fellas, the subject was science versus religion. Too many of you responders have such a neurotic abhorrence of socialism, a topic you least understand, that your minds have ceased to work. Of course, since Darrow was not a laissez faire capitalist, you can't admit he is right on any subject.

Dick, maybe I gave the wrong impression but I agreed with Darrow in the Scopes trial.

A few years back, the transscrption, of books, onto computer banks, had begun. Now, history can be erased, He who controls the knowledge of histrory, attempys to socially engeneer humans, thus, we see this. NEVER forget, who we are, and what we are, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it. And that, is called insanity.

Has anyone read a current high school 'social studies' book lately? Indoctrination indeed...

Should be required reading for all adults with children...but alas, many with children were already indoctrinated...this did begin about 1973...

Dick thinks that since we don't agree with socialism that we are neurotic and don't understand it. Actually Dick, the problem (your problem) is that we understand it all too well. It's a failure everytime and it's legalized theft. And come to think of it...I've never met a Veteran from this side of the ocean who "fought for Socialism"....have you?

The trial was a hoax. A publicity stunt to get economic activity for the town it was held in. So we get the opposite of what he is saying here. The socialists are afraid of religion and use evolution as a wedge between the student and his religion. They believe that you can not believe in God and evolution at the same time and it is a crime against reason to not believe in evolution. Yet to date no scientist or anyone else has produced one bit of evidence to support the theory. Even Darwin came to doubt it.in spite of his father and grandfather pounding the theory into his head since birth. We are left to believe what ever we want. We can not prove any one's theory about much of anything let alone how we were created or in fact if we even were.
