Mike, Pleasant Hill

What do you say of a man that desires others (the government) to be responsible for him providing for all of his needs, what then becomes of his desire for liberty?

Mike, Norwalk

If the use of 'jealous' here references a vigilance in guarding a status of being and its natural expression (more than a mere possession) - 5 stars +. Liberty is inherent to the being with no responsibilities required - it just is. The act(s) of being responsible for the exercise of liberty is a requisite to guard against designing and evil parties. Responsibilities entail the lawful manifestations of natural law.

Ronw13, Yachats Or

A Free-Man, becomes a servant to Liberty, a burden of responsibility, that reaps great rewards, peace to thyself and others. The out working of natural law, doing that which is right, " The result of righteousness is peace and quiet."

True quote and thanks to Ronw13 for not writing a 2000 word tome.

Jaime Olguin, San Diego

Freedom comes with a shell of responsibility, if you break that shell, then you may lose your liberty.

Ronw13, Yachats Or

It is not a shell, but a Core of responsibility, never to be made light of, but only with respect, for it is someone's life always on the Line !! Like GRAVITY !! Semper Fi ! Light heartedness is lukewarm water !

E Archer, NYC

I have been wanting to be responsible for myself for as long as I can remember. When will I be allowed to grow up and make my own decisions? What is freedom without personal responsibility? A ward of the State is not free.
