Not shooting the messenger, in an abstract kind of way, more accurate than not, more often than not. In reality, can truth be divided ? If truth being divided means being torn asunder (relegated to a non-relative status in differing non-cogent topics) errors will multiply.

Half truths are more dangerous than outright lies. Most of the world's religions and governments are founded upon truth divided.
