Maybe when a loaf of bread is costing 50 (worthless) dollars we'll start to understand it... Reply Mike, Norwalk 9/2/10 I know its a cliche here but he who forgets history is doomed to relive it. J Carlton, I think most neocons are willing to pay the 50 worthless dollars for a loaf of bread just to keep wars going. Reply Anonymous, Reston, VA US 9/2/10 Reply Waffler, Smith 9/2/10 The quote should read "dictatorships". Strong men (dictators) must keep appearing to be strong or they will fall. Democracy is the best way to have peaceful nations living in harmony. Reply Mike, Norwalk 9/2/10 Waffler, again, while reading your stupid, I'm rolling on the floor laughing out loud while shaking my head. You mention: "Strong men (dictators) must keep appearing to be strong or they will fall." A Democracy by definition is the 'Strong' dictating to the 'Weak'. So, what you've said is, the problem is the solution, impressive military campaigns (not just a large standing army for deterrent) is a peaceful nation, empires with one strong group lording absolutely over a minority means living in harmony. hmm, again I say hmmm. Reply cal, lewisville, tx 9/2/10 There's no arguing with that Mike. Reply Waffler, Smith 9/2/10 How it is that Mike considers the idea of "one man one vote" to be rule by the Stong, I will never understand. Traditionally wars were waged by nobles who were offended by other nobles, then by eogcentri dictators. It can be argued that Bushes fight was primarily with Saddam Hussein (who had tried to kill his father Bush the first) thus the Strong man idea may even gain sway in a democracy at times but we at least have term limits on the Presidency,. Reply Mike, Norwalk 9/2/10 I've explained Waffler's 'one man one vote' at nauseam. I even wrote it really slow so that the Waffler world's could understand it. The Wafflers will never be able to understand the true definition and use of a democracy because it would condemn his/their personal inhumanity to man. Democracies deal only divisively in the concept of groups, not individuals; that is simply, a majority is superior in all ways to an inferior minority. One man one vote when translated through a political filter may attain equal consideration to a single body 'majority' BUT, one man's vote is neither a majority or a minority. A democracy by corporeal power, is by its conceptual nature, the only body capable of creating law - The Laws of Nature and of Nature's God, unalienable rights of the individual sovereign, and justice do not (can not) co-exist with a democracy as in a democracy the only body (of concluded majority) that is authorized capable, and enabled to endow such is the body democracy. One man one vote in a representative republic (diametrically opposed to a democracy) is a choice on how best to administer the currently existing natural law, individual inalienable rights, and justice. To conclude, one man one vote, in and of itself, is a too shallow a statement, without further explanations, to base a system of freedom, liberty, law, justice or individual inalienable rights. One man one vote does not equate to democracy but rule by the Strong does. Waffler is speaking out both sides of his mouth again to try and make a lie sound plausible. Reply Jamie, Nelson 9/2/10 It's not much of a democracy when voter turnout is so low? That which is mob rule ... It would be better for proportional representation, as a system. Fat chance of that? Anyway, the elites in control are able to manipulate the democratic system. Just ask A. Gore? Like the Hittites the U.S. has now founded an empire, based on war. Is this the collapse spoken of? I think not, despite the dabbling in bone throwing around the issue. It will mean that most citizens of that country will be more & more economic slaves, than before. If the people of the U.S. wish to change this? Then the change has to come from within. Not only manifestly, but also by social conscience. Far easier said than done .... see Sun Tzu and "The Art of War". Reply Nick 9/3/10 Reply E Archer, NYC 9/3/10 The cause of war is undefended wealth. Waffler thinks it is because of the 'egos' of the rulers. Silly. Wars are fought for the resources of the 'enemy.' The American military may be moving out of Iraq, but there are still 50,000 troops there (isn't this still A LOT?) -- and they will make sure the OIL stays under US control -- or more specifically, under the control of those that made sure that war happened in the first place. Watch for the same thing in Afghanistan. You could also equate this quote with the current mounting of 'war' against the people in the US on the cusp of the impending economic collapse. Essentially the government is saying, 'we are going to have to start taking over private industry and taxing everyone more or else we are going to go bankrupt.' It is because the people cannot properly defend their 'wealth' (labors, property, savings) and it is open season! SaveOk2 SaveOk2 View CommentsClick to view or comment.
