By way of example: of all those running for the top national executive spot and talking Constitution, how many are doing anything. Compelled compliance, unregulated force, license, theft of the laborer's fruit, judicial legislation, loss of the bill of rights 1-10, the Republic replaced by democratic oligarchies, etc. etc. etc. continues Reply Waffler, Smith, Arkansas 1/9/08 I believe that it is a fact of life that the higher you go in society, politics, or corporate organization the more one appears to be a liar and a scondrel. It is like being a boss who tries to get along with all of his employees and the employees are all trying to be in first place with the boss. In the end often happens that all the employees think the boss is dishonest. At any given time at least 50 percent of folks think any given politician is lying. So what's new! Reply E Archer, NYC 1/9/08 We can't just blame the politicians -- Americans seem to love fantasy, reality is boring. We don't elect good people, we elect popular people who 'look' good -- forget about qualifications. It seems the only qualification we require is that they promise to give us something that we should normally provide ourselves. That is why Consitutionalists don't get elected and Socialists do. But every now and then a good man/woman makes it through -- like Ron Paul. Reply warren, olathe 1/9/08 A nut like Ron Paul. Look at the top 3 Dems. Not one valid qualification can be found among the three, but lots of people think they are the way to a better future. The republicans top 2 arn't much better. The lower down the popularity pole you get on each party's list of candidates the more qualifications seem to be found. We are a country run by 30 second sound bites and those that can create them. Untill we start to ignore the mass medea and begin an ernest effort to investigate our choices, we will have to be resolved to just blaming others for our delema. Reply Mike, Norwalk 1/9/08 Waffler, though what you say is somewhat accurate, in the Republic, there is a standard to which innocence is measured. That standard is the Constitution. It doesn't matter if people think politicians are lying, their actions can be measured against that Constitution. Now and then a nut like Ron Paul is sent to the legislature, the rest are liars. Reply jpecho, Corrales 1/10/08 Maybe I am too late on this quote but cannot help but reply to two comment here that call Ron Paul a nut. What do you know about this candidate whol has spent 20 years in the legislature and has not voted against one anti-constitutional law, and would bring this country around. Have you spent more than five minutes listening or reading about him. Google his name and inform yourselves. You are so far off mark on him, and it offends me that you label him as such.
