No other government on earth is so founded on the individual being the absoulte sovereign as was the United States. The further the family declines or is deteriorated and attacked by government, while making the government the sole establishment of religion and care giver, the further away from those principles that made America great liberty gets.

True liberty also presumes that you will take responsibility for your own actions and not rely upon government to assist you in any way. Charity is great, but government mandated charity is oppression, and that is what we have today. Not only have we lost our self reliance, we have lost our firm conviction that our liberties come from God and that if we are unwilling to stand firm and live according to His teachings, we will suffer the consequence of losing those liberties to any who would infringe upon them.

It is very VERY sad that, the experiment is dead. With the advent of the occupying statist theocracy's police state, complete with compelled compliance, license, victimless crimes, larceny with impunity (life / income / property taxes, funny money, etc.) and denial of inalienable rights, the once land of the free and home of the brave is no different than the most despotic banana republics out there.
