The context was about repealing tax cuts. Shows even more the mentality that our money is not ours but theirs to decide how much of it we may keep. This is not an uncommon remark from statists from the left or the right. "The common good" is classic collectivist jargon for 'we the State.'

In a saner, morally sounder nation, the ethically incapacitated, objectively, pragmatic to the point of being sociopathic, Hillary Clinton would be universally understood to be morally, ethically, intellectually, philosophically, temperamentally and experientially utterly unworthy of having access to any lever of power.
