Dr. Ron Paul Quote

“American voters should understand that Congress will always find a way to spend every last dollar sent to Washington. Remember, politicians get votes by promising everything to everyone, always at the expense of some other invisible taxpayers. …The federal government cannot maintain a budget surplus any more than an alcoholic can leave a fresh bottle of whiskey untouched in the cupboard.”

About in 1980, I gave 100 bux to Ron Paul's campaign. NOW he lies, Taxes cannot be paid with paper, No one wants us to pay taxes. IRS does not ask for money, they want checks that only authorize banks to reduce our credit and thus regulate consumption. www.morpix.biz/dc

Too bad Mr Paul isn't president.

Waffler, Smith

Partly true and partly false. Clinton ran a surplus for a number of years. When he did the Repubs in Congress complained saying "that is the peoples money". These same Repubs are to stupid to also admit that "it is the peoples debt". And we got to start paying it. The sooner the better. We lived profilgate to long at the hands of Cheney/Bush! I think Ron Paul is a simpleton and obviously do the people of the United States and his Republican Party.

The overly simplistic rambling of a simpleton.

Ron Paul, a simpleton ? He was the only one running for president with any idea about saving the economy. Yes , the republicrats were stupid to nominate McCain instead of Mr Paul. and now we are paying the price with Marxist Obama. The stock market is down over 2000 points since his election. "O" and the gang say it will get worse before it gets better. I suspect that it will get worse before it gets even worse.

Waffler and A from Reston, you are right again. The simplest concepts are those that made up the foundational jurisprudence of the greatest nation on earth, that being all life is noble and each individual is sovereign. The Laws of Nature and of Nature's God espoused by Congressman Paul were far to simplistic for the complicated destruction of freedom, liberty, economics, morals, and society. Such complicated destruction now being experienced by We The People could be solved by the simple but, that does not fit the ideology of the collectivist or other power mongers as may exist. It took the complicated theocracy of collectivism and coronated individuals/oligarchy to find the ultimate in absolute corruption and falsehoods, pain and suffering. Now that the collectivists have sufficiently dummied down America through generations of public schools, propaganda rich media (arguing both sides and who's right or wrong - dumber or dumbest), etc., the simple concepts addressing freedom and liberty's laws no longer exist in the general population.

E Archer, NYC

Such simplicity is lost on those who think they can get something for nothing but secretly believe it is OK to rob others they believe to be 'rich' (i.e. someone properous) in order to give to those they believe are 'poor' (i.e. themselves) It is one thing to spend the taxpayer's money poorly, it is another to lay a debt upon every man, woman, and child in America in order for Congress to spend it however they please -- mostly to those that can secure their re-election. Our taxes barely cover the interest owed on Uncle Sam's 'promises.'

Waffler, Smith

Of course the stock market slide since November a year ago had nothing to do with the 8 years of Cheney/Bush.

Does anyone believe Caesar paid for bread and circuses with his own money?
