Williams is correct. Our laws follow societies ideas and values. In short we enact laws that reflect our values and Courts do the same. Judges make rulings that shift as societal values change. However these are not bad things, so long as the laws and rulings come about through processes created and approved by those who are governed. Such laws and rulings create boundaries and structure that follow our values and are necessary to an orderly society. The problems occur when laws and rulings are put in place outside of the approved process by executive fiat. And all of the dictators referenced by Williams in the quote did just that, so to that extent these men were similar. Further, our current President is using regulations and executive orders to do the same thing. So to some extent Williams is right about that too--it is a form of totalitarianism and things like rent control, wealth redistribution, affirmative action and welfare are takings in the name of social justice. However, I disagree when he implies that lawyers have contempt for the Constitution. Maybe some but not all or even most--I think it's a small minority--people like the current Attorney General. But the US Constitution was written by lawyers, as was the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitutions of every state and virtually every other document that's come down to us that guarantees human rights.

Absolutely, right on. It can't happen here? It's been happening for decades! The poison of authoritarianism in the guise of social justice is the death knell to liberty -- which is the true goal of the financiers (like Geroge Soros). Global socialism (which would swing between communist and fascist like a pendulum) is the goal, under the thumb of the international banking system and UN (whose members are mostly found on the communist/fascist scale). The rules for the government designed to protect the liberty of the People have been turned against the People, such that the rules are designed to protect the State and its organs, at the expense of the People. America can't be the only country defending the liberty of the Individual, the movement will have to be embraced by other countries under the thumb of their own systems of governance. The battle for Freedom is not over, in fact it rages on.

To E Archer - I believe We arrive at a turning point for all mankind, I have little doubt that most of the world's downtrodden are quite ready to shirk their despotic binds and enjoin an American-style Constitutional sovereignty form of limited govt and Liberty for all.
