Being in the majority don't make it right.

This is the Democracy our government promotes. No conscience! What happened to our Republic?

Majority vote is forcing Obamacare on us.

This deserves a thousand stars! But it must be tempered to say that one persons conscience does not make a polity. It may be against ones conscience to vote for a Democrat or a Republican but we still have to live with it. Or like Jim K or whatshisname in Calgary just pick up your guns and start shooting in defense of your conscience.

It demostrates quite clearly how the lazy majority voted for "the goodies". That's how we got the Kenyan Imposter.

I wonder why Waffler can't REALLY agree with this quote without reserving the power to impose majority opinion on others. It is like saying, 'yes, I agree a thousandfold as long as people realize that if the majority outnumbers them then too bad -- wait until next election.' ;-) Waffler, completely missed the point!

You are entitled to your conscience, yes even you Archer, but you are not entitled to force it on others. On occasion your conscience may be unconscionable to the majority or to the law. Thought and conscience are one thing ACTION is another. Archer never heard of the concept of nuance.

When corruption rules by majority, then it must be tossed out by the seat of there pants.

When I complain about the lack of succinct-ness, I NEVER include Gandhi ! And those who make a long and convoluted argument about his wisdom usually have missed the point.

Waffler, voting for the guy that promises to raise taxes on the supporters of the opposition in order to give to his constituency, on the basis of 'compassion,' is an example of justifying theft in the name of the 'conscience' of the majority. Yes, I have a right to act according to conscience -- and so do you. However, if your conscience is insistent on robbing me, my conscience will be insistent on defending myself from you and your mob. What Waffler continues to ignore is the 'power' of the collective being used to enforce opinion -- the rest of us do not have to accept the opinion, but we do have to do what we are commanded to do or else. Obamacare is a good example, but there are many others -- the Patriot Act is still in effect, we have no habeas corpus rights anymore.
