People have become so used to government handouts they are more afraid of losing them to even want to try to understand tyranny and freedom. Those are taboo topics they are also afraid of hearing about nevermind learning about.

If you take the people's freedom from them all at once, they will revolt overnight. If you nibble at these freedoms a little at a time, then few seem to notice.

Because today's bondage is of the mind itself.

Do Americans know of or care about our history any more? Do the schools teach it completely and honestly? I'm afraid not. Those in political office on the left, and some on the right, are drunk on power, and think they know better than we do what is good for our country. We have incrementally been robbed of liberty and the freedom to pursue happiness by our own government. Tea party, anyone?

There again freedom, similar to life itself, grows as the individual accepts his role and responsibilities. I am more free then I was before. I am more mature then I was before. I  am more human then I was yesterday.
