An excellent point. Fabian Society formed in London late 19th century proposed gradual replacement of Capitalism by Socialism. Fabians believed in gradual nationalization of the economy through manipulation of the democratic process (Forbes 11/02/2008). U.S. Liberals do not claim the title Fabian but are achieving their goal.
