Cigarettes and liquor are legal and sold everywhere but God help you if you get caught with marijuana which is not nearly as harmful. The congress knows that this War on Drugs does more harm than good but none have the guts to say so. On the web, see LEAP.cc. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/6/10 re: William Barclay quote Tell that to the Brady bunch. 3 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/6/10 re: Tom Anderson quote If you can find it, read "The Income Tax, Root of all Evil ". Written a while back and still true. Probably available on Amazon. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/6/10 re: Pierre Lemieux quote And send more and they spend more. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/6/10 re: Pierre Lemieux quote We send it and they spend it. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/4/10 re: Jacob G. Hornberger quote Mike, please do not insult idiots by calling waffler an idiot. To call him an idiot would be a compliment. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/3/10 re: Jacob G. Hornberger quote Todays quotes are some of the best I have ever seen. Thank you. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/3/10 re: John Adams quote If you don't have a way to protect yourself in your home, you are making a mistake. You may have one of those security services with an alarm ,but they still have to call the cops and you have to wait for them to arrive. Of course , you can always visit with the burglar while you wait. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/3/10 re: John Adams quote Some say we should leave it to the cops for our safety. If you think that the cops can protect you, think again. After you are robbed and killed in your home, they will make a report and that's about it. They may even catch the culprit but you are still dead. It's up to us to protect ourselves. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/3/10 re: Jacob G. Hornberger quote If he ever runs for president he gets my vote. This quote nails it. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/2/10 re: Doug Bandow quote You had to know that Anonymous and Waffler wouldn't understand anything about economics. When the minimum wage is increased thousands of entry level jobs that teens need simply disappear. If you need a minimum wage , why hell, let's make it 50 dollars an hour. Of course business couldn't pay it and no one would have a job but what the heck. 2 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/1/10 re: Harlan F. Stone quote The term is "Jury Nullification" and no judge is ever going to mention this to a jury. I doubt that half the lawyers in the country have ever heard of it. I had to explain this to a top lawyer friend in Ohio who had no idea what it was. I guess they overlooked it in law school. Jury nullification is about the last chance a citizen has to nullify a bad law unless the law is stricken from the books. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/1/10 re: George Sutherland quote If a juror doesn't think a law is fair,he can vote not guilty regardless of the judges instructions. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/31/10 re: Sanford Levinson quote Is there anyone in this country that actually trusts this government? Can anyone be that stupid, or perhaps ignorant? 1Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/31/10 re: Sinclair Lewis quote Well said, J Carlton. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/31/10 re: Sanford Levinson quote Good ol' Waffler, a truly consistent lefty, he never disappoints. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/31/10 re: Sanford Levinson quote Elaine, how on earth could you think that this quote makes Levinson a lib or a"progressive" ? He's talking about an armed state such as Germany was when Hitler took over, not about citizens owning firearms. The last line shows he is no "progressive". Can you imagine Obama, Pelosi, or Reid saying something like that. They love the state and all it's power. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/31/10 re: Mordechai Anielewicz quote Kudos to J and Mike. 4 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/30/10 re: Frederic Bastiat quote It's scary to realize that the crowd in Washington stays up nights figuring new ways to tax us, naturally it's for our own good. 3 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/30/10 re: Doug Bandow quote Anonymous, "Societal responsibility" is another way of saying it's okay to steal from one party and give it to another. And Waffler, I promise not to tell Robin Hood. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/27/10 re: Sebastian Franck quote Oh those soothing words and big smile from the great deceiver now occupying the White House. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/27/10 re: Niccolo Machiavelli quote You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time and that's usually enough to elect liberals. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/26/10 re: Pat Condell quote Waffler, what in hell or you talking about. Your rantings are a hodge-podge of liberal gibberish and make no sense whatsoever. 1 Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/26/10 re: Pat Condell quote How anyone can respect the gang of thugs currently infesting Congress and the White House is a mystery to me, Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 8/26/10 re: Cato quote If treason is giving aid and comfort to an enemy, I wonder why Jane Fonda hasn't been tried and hanged.
