Logically whatever a man places in the highest place, whatever form or notion or thought or idea all other considerations are subordinate to, is his religion and god, regardless of how he calls it. I grow weary of listening to the arrogance of man, all day longs he worships himself as god and professes to be an atheist or humanist or whatever other "ist" he chooses, all while postulating himself as intelligent and sophisticated. It's both laughable and lamentable.Man is only free to choose what he will worship. Period. While organized and named religious beliefs which point to a transcendent and named God certainly have their issues, we well know the death that godlessness brings, as well the confusion and turmoil and purposeless it creates in those tourtured under its tenants.
