You are losing it, Jack. Go to sleep. I mean, go to bed, you are already asleep. You should just put on your favorite music and forget all about trying to think.

Anyone can find these references, Jack, and can prove to themselves whether you or I mislead them here. I am satisfied that you either have not the capacity to reason or have not the desire to be honest. You have my disrespect.

David L Rosenthal

Do you need a defibulator, Jack, or an electroshock applicator? Do your own research, like a big boy. You still haven't responded to most of the references I gave, so either respond to them or otherwise it will look as though you really agree with them. I guess you don't believe that Three Dollar Bill ever did anything wrong, since you seem to be his greatest living advocate. Try being honest for a change, Jack. It won't hurt too much.

What to reform is for the reformer to decide, and for the rest to support or oppose. Jack is not the arbiter of this issue. Each individual is in his own case.

Once again the team of Archer and Jack team up to twist and distort whatever is in their path. What you insinuate with regard to my statements is not what I stated, but the glee you apparently enjoy in doing so is your only reward. You only denigrate yourselves by revealing your own shortcomings, either the inability to reason or the lack of desire to reason genuinely. It is pathetic and I feel sorry for you.

"The purpose of government is to rein in the rights of the people." Bill Clinton, during an interview on MTV in 1993

David L Rosenthal

But you are not saying that crimes are not crimes, are you? It's a simple question.

David L Rosenthal

You can find it by using your search engine, Jack. It is not hard to find. Or you can deny it out of hand. Do as you please. But first, try to remember that only a short time ago you added comments to the page on one of Clinton's quotes on the subject on this site. You don't remember? See: http://quotes.liberty-tree.ca/quote_blog/Bill.Clinton.Quote.7332..........and women's rights do not include killing a fetus. That is not a right. And what are Gay Rights? The right to plunge reproductive organs into excretory canals? The government made sodomy legal when it abolished all the anti-sodomy laws. And when has the government taken away demonstrators' rights? I have participated in dozens of demonstrations in South Florida. Ocassionally the police become abusive, but isn't that what they do best? It hasn't stopped anyone I know of. On the contrary, one day we were just four people standing on a street corner, NOT EVEN protesting, when three police cars pulled up to demand our permit. After that I wrote to the mayor of Miami and some commissioners, and I stated that I would never again request a permit for a protest, while less than 50 people were to participate, as the local rule stipulates that requirement, and that I expected them to inform the police not to interfere with our legal demonstrations. The police have NEVER again asked me for a permit. Jack, do you get out much, or do you just listen to what the leftist press broadcasts?

If reason is despotic, then let reason be the dictator. Someone is going to rule, so it should at least be someone reasonable. I know, I keep asking for too much.

David L Rosenthal

Well, in this respect, Bill Clinton was quite honest, when he plainly stated his opinion that our rights should be more limited. O, right...the quote refers to civilized governments. Are there any? Well, after all, we really do have more liberty than half the world.

David L Rosenthal

O reason, o reason, what insanity is stated in thy name! A crime is a crime, and liberty is not a license to sin, to transgress, to commit crime, atrocity, or abuse, or any other act of the nature of these. All the rest is blowing hot air. The quote is understandable, if one takes into account the circumstances of the speaker, as Jack pointed out earlier. But beyond that it is generally not useful to automatically imbue with criminality any given act committed in connection with the processes of justice. Often enough it happens that liberty is abused, but justice still must be sought.

David L Rosenthal

"Morality can not legitimately be legislated, THUS hopefully only those numerated issues within the Decalogue will be defined as crimes." You refer here to the Ten Commandments or to the Bill of Rights? In either case, I don't get it. The Bible indicates that causing a fetus to exit the womb prior to its natural time may be punished, depending upon the ultimate result. So you are saying, then, that it would be a sin, but not a crime. And when the fetus is partially removed, now alive outside the womb, partially, then it is a crime to kill it? I think one of us is slipping. You tell me which one.

David L Rosenthal

Crimes are committed in the name of many things. These crimes are crimes; they are not expressions of that in the name of which they are committed. Crimes committed in the name of liberty are not expressions of liberty, but simply crimes.

David L Rosenthal

The quote is a fallacious statement. It supposes that those who oppose tyranny do so out of hatred, rather than a legitimate interest in rights.

David L Rosenthal

That is "the best example"? That is ridiculous. But now that the democratic-socialist party is in power, you will see rights being infringed by the government. The party in power is the one that advocates repealing the second amendment, raising taxes, and doing business with tyrannical regimes.

David L Rosenthal

You wake up, Jack. The key word is Oppression. Do you think that people advocating their values against other people advocating dissimilar values is oppression? If so, you may be from Never Never Land or Oblivion. Where I am from, oppression means the government, or a regime of some kind, forcing people to comply with orders or standards, or to suffer conditions, that the people should not have to comply with or suffer.

David L Rosenthal

Especially those who justify the oppression "for religious purposes"? In NYC? Where? Who? Have you moved to a Moslem neighborhood?

David L Rosenthal

And, nevertheless, it is always necessary to put things in order.

David L Rosenthal

Reston, Tyrants are nothing more than murderous pirates that refuse to use their power to rule justly. To eliminate a tyrant is hardly murder, in the legal sense. Have you not heard of justifiable homicide? Although not a Christian's duty, it is a logical legal standard that those who murder, extort, oppress, enslave, and otherwise criminally abuse, should be severely punished, which often requires the execution of such people as commit acts that characterize a tyrant's routine. Of course, it is always more complicated than that; tyrants are surrounded by armed henchmen and others that do their bidding, forming a central body of tyranny that may number in the thousands, who oppress millions of others. An attempt to overthrow them easily results in the deaths of thousands of innocent victims. So murder may be the outcome, in any case.

Is Stendahl referring sarcastically to Christian pastors? That is a common passtime of the uninformed cynic. The shepherds alluded to in the Christian Scriptures are charged with taking care of the flock. Certain specific examples are given of the type of care expected. Those false shepherds who do otherwise are also pointed out and condemned. And the advent of false shepherds and false prophets is foretold. No where is it claimed either that all Christians or all pastors are what they should be or do exactly as they should do. To the contrary, the judgment of the false or unfaithful is foretold. But this does not stop cynics and atheists from spewing half-truths and sarcastic sophism.

Ok. Tar and feathers it is.

Mike: I was training to infiltrate Cuba to assasinate certain figures and hopefully to start a general uprising. No kidding. I live in South Florida and have been associated with a number of like-minded fellows. But then I stumbled over the inconvenience of the word of God, which threw a monkey wrench into those plans. That happened just recently. Although I am still struggling to make sense of various points and issues, it seems more clear than not that one may either be a follower of Christ or one may be a political assassin. Or maybe I am just being picky. Anyway, just living in modern society makes Christianity a precarious endeavor, in various ways, and not simple. What I am driving at is that the psychology of Christ is not entirely compatible with political ideology, even of the better sort. So, what am I supposed to tell anyone about whether they should have a revolution? Should many of our political figures be hung, drawn and quartered, tarred and feathered, and impaled? Probably. But it aint my job.
