We can't go on helping the entire world when we can't. We need jobs here! In America. We can't depend on anybody, not really. Ever country has it's own need or self-interest. Including us. Washington wanted to help the french at the time, but knew we simply couldn't if we were to continue our own quest... So we helped them later. We can and should be charitable when we are able, but not as global law or policy, administered by force. And by the way, a big government is more instinctive than reasonable. It doesn't really even want to help it's own, that is, not if at the sake of losing it's own power of a few. Small government, jobs here, an opportunity to go on your own and hack a living, get on our feet, then let's do what we can for others, never having ourselves to depend on any foreign help. Why the lies? Why did they want FOX out of the loop? Why did Time Magazine leave the tea-party gatherings out of their 'pictures that made news of the year'? Silence and ridicule, old far left strategy. And who likes anybody patting themselves on the back? I don't.The fact is there is so much stuff that is on FOX that no other station even tries to put out. And the other stations, or people these stations support, are constantly, constantly, constantly invited to argue their cases on FOX. I watch other stations as well, and I never see the same invitations, or more accurately, it,s Extremely rare and with no hard debate. That's why five times the people watch FOX. I never did until I gave it a chance. No station is totally 'fair and balanced', but FOX is the most open to debate. This, has to be, at least, acknowledged. People want to know what's happening. Why the silence and avoidance when the openness to debate is so clearly present? Every station does it's own marketing. Give FOX a month, and then compare. You are for free speech, -for all-, right? Back up those five stars you give George. every station does it's own marketing 1 Reply Rick, Erie 5/6/10 re: George Washington quote We have a republic (so far), not a generalized democracy. It gives us checks and balances. The founding fathers weren't stupid. They had a sharp knowledge of human nature, and where is tends. All of history before them was oppression. They knew it and wanted safeguards in law against any kind of too strong government, for themselves and each and all others. Hence the -necessary negativism- in the Constitution. Nazis, Communism, are both conceived with socialism. Whoever gets the power has it made in the shade. The people are the ones who eventually get it in the back. All starting with "For the people" retoric. It's a disgrace the way laws are rammed through today. What a sham. The hiddenness, lies, elitism. Stalin, Mao, Hitler--all claimed socialism. Give me some selfless farmers and such into our government who have a descent grasp of the "Golden Rule" and abide in it, and America will breathe again with charity in it's heart. I, myself, am among the poor, and I'd rather be so, with the past freedom of this country, than with a socialized oppression that can change to Maoism or Nazism in a crisis. There's no graditude for help if no generousity prompts it. What a bleak and dead spirit. It only gets worse if one knows history. And what, so far has been done in hiding in the light of day? Deception and magic, two sides of the same false coin. Thank goodness, there are some who could be members of the elite, yet they choose the ground, and voice it's reality. It is stupid to think of the uneducated as stupid. And a smart government will know this, and honor it. The one who understands the "Golden Rule" and practices it in the trial and temptations of life, is a good man. Most of the Constitution anounces this, except we needed a civil war to finally get rid of the sin of slavery. The rest is freedom, but this sin is starting again, only color is erased. God help us in this lost world. Reply Rick, Erie 5/2/10 re: Samuel Adams quote Judy, History surely tells us you walk on dangerous ground here. How would you like a king who has the power to single you out, and then take the most dreadful actions against you and those you love the most? People, esp. those with legal power, can selfishly turn on you, and not at necessarily this very moment. This is why the Constitution is written so negative, for protection against this very thing. These guys, America's founding fathers weren't stupid. They had a very sharp knowledge and sense of 'human nature'. Unfortunately, it is weak, changable, and can become very cruel. Let us all be careful about such actions of our minds and hearts. Judy, take care, and good will to all, Rick Reply Rick, Erie 5/2/10 re: Samuel Adams quote Anne, Good work if you are indeed correct. Either way, aren't the words just as true? 2 Reply Rick, Erie 5/2/10 re: Samuel Adams quote Word-smiths! Truth? What a sham. A shell-game of the most polite lies. Political correctness at it's most cunning. The conniving subtleness of tradgity made to look good, or at least alright. Terrorism-- Man-made disaster. HA! 11Reply Rick, Erie 5/1/10 re: Samuel Adams quote Logan, Virtue? We don't need hard science to prove even a liar doesn't like being lied to. Rick SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
