Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 2/2/11 re: Ruth Gavison quote It was natural for the "left" to blame conservative radio for creating a "climate of hate" that caused the killings in Arizona. For real hate, just check out some of the left wing blogs. We need to make sure they don't. 1 Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/31/11 re: George Washington quote I'm with E Archer on this one. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/28/11 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Jefferson was a Diest and had no use for the doctrine of the Trinity. Read Jefferson's writings on religion in "The Essence of Jefferson", by Martin Larson. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/28/11 re: Robert G. Ingersoll quote I agree with Wafflers comment completely. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/28/11 re: Albert Einstein quote Steve, Planet Earth, I appreciate your comments. Raised in a Bible church, we believed that events, such as the Flood were actual historical events. We weren't much into thinking but were big on believing. Later I realized that the Bible is a compilation of writings by largely unknown and primitive writers who thought the earth was flat, these writings later assembled into what is known as the Bible by a committee. Taking the Bible literaly means believing a whole lot of unbelievable stuff such as stoning children if they disobeyed. I doubt that even a fundamentalist would do that. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/24/11 re: Adlai E. Stevenson quote I understand that Adlai Stevenson was the person who talked JFK out of sending the promised air support at the Bay of Pigs. If this is true he sure didn't care much about freedom for the people of Cuba. Does anyone have information on this? Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/21/11 re: Harry S. Truman quote And boy would the Obama crowd love to silence Fox News, Limbaugh, Savage, Beck, Hannity, and anyone else that opposes them. Speaking out against Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and any other of the usual suspects just ain't politically correct. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/21/11 re: George W. Bush quote Bush was not my all time favorite president, but F. Jones comments make more sense than all of the ones above. 5 Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/21/11 re: Adolf Hitler quote Fear is the great control mechanism. Everyone from dictators like Stalin and Hitler to fundamentalist preachers have used it to control people. Keep 'em scared and they won't get out of line. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/20/11 re: Ayn Rand quote This quote from a woman who understood the evils of "The State". Reston, don't be late for the party meeting tonight. Those socialists get cranky when you come in late. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/20/11 re: Douglas MacArthur quote J Carlton is right. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/20/11 re: Douglas MacArthur quote When Truman fired MacArthur it was a pygmy firing a giant. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/18/11 re: Calvin Coolidge quote Now it seems that the chief concern of the Congress is to do as much as possible to stifle business. Our country has progressed in spite of, not beacuse of government. J Carlton has it right. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/17/11 re: Barack Hussein Obama quote It's interesting that our government always has some threat to our safety going on, some war, so as to take even more of our freedoms away. People will readily surrender these freedoms when faced with some sort of threat, real imagined, or invented. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/17/11 re: Barack Hussein Obama quote Actually it started before Obama was born, somewhere around 1913 when we got the Federal reserve and the income tax. Perhaps even by Lincoln who seemed to be bound and determined to centralize power in Washington. 3 Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/17/11 re: Senate Report, 93rd Congress quote Somehow or another, knowing that any president has this kind of power doesn't make me feel safer, just the opposite. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/14/11 re: Wendell Phillips quote I'm with Cal on this. There's not much liberty when you are are locked up in some Commie prison, as in Cuba or N. Korea. Reply jim k, Austin,tx 1/14/11 re: Tom Bethel quote I believe that the 3rd sentence of this quote should read "not undermining morality" instead of "no undermining morality" and no comma is necessary after the word "undermining." Reply jim k, Austin,tx 1/13/11 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Thanks to government, our "innocent posterity" is going to inherit a mammoth debt. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/12/11 re: Ronald Reagan quote Waffler, nuts again. Why shouldn't people be allowed to pass on what is theirs to their family. It sure as hell doesn't belong to the government. Reply jim k, Austin,Tx 1/12/11 re: Roger Pilon quote Our government uses the Commerce Clause to control nearly everything.
