Me: The government we have now is also the result of RedState America at last acqiesing to H.L. Mencken's prescient quotation that: "as Democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts' desire at last when the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Old Abe was a true pol... he played both ends against the middle whenever he needed to.

Woodrow Wilson: probably one of the worst of our American presidents who became so enamored of Edith Galt that he behaved like a sop around her. Wilson allowed Edith to run the show after he married her.

Old H.L. had it exactly right...it was the South that was fighting for the right to make its own decisions...whether One agrees with the popular premise that the 'troubles' were about slavery or not. States rights? Not always.

But the constitution doesn't say anything about intelligence or having to know anything about how our government works...not that I'm aware.

Every couple of years we hear about a Flat Tax...this is a political ploy designed so that the taxpayers actually think the pols are thinking about us. Baloney.

How very applicable are these words: "as has been proven by the result of the great effort to throw off its just authority"...Tom DeLay needs to pay heed...he will go nowhere in seeking to dismantle the Judiciary as we know it. It grows as do we.
