Reply Anon 12/27/08 re: Erich Fromm quote Under natural law man instinctively creates on earth what is best for him making survival easier. He creates institutions whether religious, political, economic and social for one reason only. To make things better for himself, (family). If these institutions are are good and for the betterment of society as a whole and if used in the good way they were meant to be, man benefits. The problem isn't so much that the institutions are evil in themselves, rather they are altered by corrupt individuals with doctines of men for their own personal gain in contradiction of the original intent that established the institution. Point is, To blame the corrupted institutions of today (religion in particular) for the problems these institutions have created is to ignore the fact that men are the creators of good and evil on earth and instituions wouldn't exist but for men creating them and some men destroy what others create for their benefit. The religion of science is IMO, in harmony with the eternal laws of nature within the individual but it is still faith in something just as religions are faith in something. Who determines when a individuals' faith is more important than anothers or that what faith should stay and what faith should go? Me? You? Any "one" A majority of "ones"? Who has the right to eliminate someones' faith for any reason? The quote is the height of stupidity in its justification of using the same basic method institutions of corrupt men have used in the past to commit the same crime again. Only this time the author perceives his faith being in charge. 2 Reply Anon 12/25/08 re: Jesus of Nazareth quote I agree Dick. When peacemakers became law enforcers things changed. Reply Anon 12/24/08 re: James Madison quote Hello E Archer, I believe this is the process you refer to? 1. from bondage to spiritual faith 2. from spiritual faith to great courage 3. from great courage to liberty 4. from liberty to abundance 5. from abundance to complacency 6. from complacency to apathy 7. from apathy to dependence 8. from dependence back into bondage" Professor Alexander Tyler History Professor at the University of Edinburgh 1787 + or - I don't believe this process has to continue if we will finally learn the lessons of history and actually preach it in our religious institutions, teach it in our schools, and practice it in our social and political lives mankind has the ability to establish natural law world wide and it has been the failure of not learning this lesson that mankind has suffered under the burdens placed upon them indirectly by themselves and directly by others through the centuries. At this time in history the technology that is being used to bring us from step 7 into step 8 and world wide servitude will, after this lesson learned this time around, in reversal of its use, free the world to the exact degree it will be enslaved this time. When freedom rings again in step 4 it will ring on every internet connection in the world and the truth of just what liberty is will never be silenced because of instant communication used in a good way rather than the evil way it is used today. " The battle for Liberty will remain a battle for eons to come." Have you no faith in man? Have you no faith in yourself? Mankind has always had the knowledge and ability to establish these innate eternal laws on earth and technology will finally give them the means to accomplish it and allow it to flourish within the minds of men in an instant. Just as the war mongers and power seekers have put use to their advantage with its modern discovery in continuing the cycle above, peace seekers and peace makers will get their opportunity to put it to use to their advantage when step 4 is reached again. The lesson learned after the coming complete worldwide bondage will be the greatest lesson ever learned in mankinds' history and it will not be forgotten this time. "Nothing can be more exactly and seriously true than what is there [the very words only of Jesus] stated; that but a short time elapsed after the death of the great reformer of the Jewish religion, before his principles were departed from by those who professed to be his special servants, and perverted into an engine for enslaving mankind, and aggrandising their oppressors in Church and State; that the purest system of morals ever before preached to man, has been adulterated and sophisticated by artificial constructions, into a mere contrivance to filch wealth and power to themselves; that rational men not being able to swallow their impious heresies, in order to force them down their throats, they raise the hue and cry of infidelity, while themselves are the greatest obstacles to the advancement of the real doctrines of Jesus, and do in fact constitute the real Anti-Christ." Thomas Jefferson Reply Anon 12/24/08 re: James Madison quote Unless Americans can once again unite on the eternal laws of nature regardless of where we believe they came from, the headlong disaster we ourselves are bringing upon us by the prevalent divisiveness between us will tear this Nation apart and the remnants picked over by those who have instigated the downfall. Reply Anon 12/24/08 re: Barry Goldwater quote Republicans have become liberals and liberals have become socialists. The cry for an end to religions heard across the land due to their corruption by the doctrines of power seeking men will result in conservatives (liberals) becoming socialists and liberals (socialists) becoming communists. God save America. Reply Anon 12/23/08 re: Benjamin Franklin quote Now that you say it Bob I do remember hearing it that way before and it makes more sense that way. Glad you brought it up. Reply Anon 12/23/08 re: Benjamin Franklin quote Eternal natural laws never change and that is by the grace of God! Reply Anon 12/23/08 re: John Biggs, Jr. quote This kind of thinking is one of the causes that brings down a free nation. Socialism preached from government on high. Reply Anon 12/23/08 re: Justice Robert H. Jackson quote True. What is either but what a man believes in or free thought? Where the problem lies is the many must be moral or ethical regardless of belief. Today too many are neither. 1 Reply Anon 12/18/08 re: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe quote There is nothing new under the sun. 2 Reply Anon 12/17/08 re: Henry George quote Truth inevitably exposes lies if it's proclaimed. It is each individual's choice to hear it or not. Most (because they are essentially good) will choose to hear it if it is proclaimed loud enough and long enough. Reply Anon 12/17/08 re: Gilbert Keith Chesterton quote And vice/versa where the modern thinkers desire the same for the new skeptic. The old notion that helps is nothing more than a return to the truth as the new notion is man's attempt to cover up the old notion which was closer to the truth to begin with. Agreement is either based on lies or based on truth. Disagreement can only be a lie vs. the truth. 1 Reply Anon 12/17/08 re: Felix Frankfurter quote Agree John, other than the idea of NEW truths. Truth is older than mankind and if any truth is faced at all it leads right back to these eternal truths which are unchanging. 1 Reply Anon 12/16/08 re: Alan Barth quote I would think a people in the thousands marching on their government in protest would be a bit more newsworthy than somebody throwing a shoe at the president. Ignoring them is effectively silencing them. Reply Anon 12/16/08 re: Bertrand Russell quote Thank God for the internet. Use it while we have it! 1 Reply Anon 12/4/08 re: Daniel K. Inouye quote Anonymous. Why? What are you afraid of? The truth or those who cover up the truth? It's a little late in the game to "Keep your comments light hearted" don't you think? You don't seriously think that people in America waking up hasn't been anticipated? Actually, the more people wake up the closer we are to the expected result that is planned for this event. You really have to look ahead to see the big picture. 1 Reply Anon 12/4/08 re: Walter Goodman quote RBESRQ. The fear perpetuated by those who enjoy our ignorance and greed and so through fear of an economic collapse we were told we had no choice but to take "extraordinary" measures for "extraordinary" circumstances. If that isn't instilling fear in someone I don't know what is. All this "collapse" BS was just that. The purpose of it was to further centralize power. And it worked. Reply Anon 12/3/08 re: Walter Goodman quote To E Archer. Because of fear of men and the power they have. 1 Reply Anon 12/1/08 re: Justice Robert H. Jackson quote Wolves in sheep's clothing? Men behind the curtain? And who's behind them? Do Oz and modern America have something in common? 1 Reply Anon 12/1/08 re: Fredrich August von Hayek quote For the foolish to see this they must admit they've been foolish. How many are left who can or will admit anything that might bruise their egos and upset their nice little world they've created for themselves. Out of fear of men most can't bring themselves to admit foolishness because faith in these same men is all they have. To face the truth of our modern economic situation would to say the least give these fools a very bad hair day. Reply Anon 12/1/08 re: Frederic Bastiat quote Very insightful Dick.
