Terrorists used knives to hijack planes on 9-11, but one citizen with a handgun would have prevented numerous deaths. I don't hunt endangered species, but use a knife to hunt a tiger (who has 8 built-in knives) makes you an idiot, not brave. Criminals will attack with the best tool they have, be it knife, bat or gun. My 15 year old daughter could not possibly defend against a 5'10" 180 lb (small) man, with or w/o a knife. Using a handgun is about self-defense, protecting life, not bravery. 1 Reply Anonymous 3/22/06 re: Voltaire quote Freedom is safety and food on the table, it is the only way to guarantee it. Reply Anonymous 3/20/06 re: Dianne Feinstein quote Ban Dianne Feintein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reply Anonymous 3/16/06 re: A. J. Muste quote We must think differently in order for things to change. We must live peace in order to have peace. Idiots like Bob and Joe are holding the human race back and leading us into more war and destruction. Reply Anonymous 3/16/06 re: Lysander Spooner quote For certain people, engaging in a certain vices will lead to criminality every time. For these people, engaging in that vice should be criminal activity, since it is a criminally irresponsible thing to do, knowing that the result will be commission of crimes. It is the same as premeditated inciting of criminality. Reply Anonymous 3/15/06 re: Dennis Miller quote Dennis Miller is an ass. Reply Anonymous 3/15/06 re: H. L. Mencken quote He is absolutely right - organized religion, especially Christianity, has been used in many abominable ways to support many heinous ideas. Was Satan the serpent? Anti Semitism is bad Reply Anonymous 3/14/06 re: Mark Twain quote do u know which book of mark twain this quote came from? because im doing a project for school 3 Reply Anonymous 3/14/06 re: Andrew Weil, MD quote Turkey, China, and Russia: all well known for their love of liberty. That's JUST who we should model our society on. Reply Anonymous 3/13/06 re: Nathan Hale quote It's beautiful! 1 Reply Anonymous 3/9/06 re: Thomas Jefferson quote Amen. Reply Anonymous 3/9/06 re: Sir Winston Churchill quote Have a drink, Terry. Reply Anonymous 3/8/06 re: George W. Bush quote Send us your poor, your tired, your nukes. Because if you don't we will send your ours. This cabal has already detonated mini-nukes in the WTC. Science tells us that is the only way to bring down those structures in the manner they were destroyed. That is mass murder. And now this same "leadership" is proposing to preemptively nuke a country who has no means to retaliate. Who will stop this madness? Bush quote It wrenches my heart to think of the thousands of men who have died to make this country free, only to have our freedoms abused by such slander and biased, unfounded opinions! Reply Anonymous 3/8/06 re: George W. Bush quote It is anti-American to blame President Bush for everything bad that happens. If you don't like it here, please move somewhere else. And if you like it here in American, then shut up and start doing something to help make it better instead of helping to tear it down. Reply Anonymous 3/8/06 re: John F. Kennedy quote Ha ha ha. is it 'condemns the oppression' or 'condoms the oppression'? Reply Anonymous 3/8/06 re: John F. Kennedy quote Dudes, is it agenda or addenda? There's a difference. 1 Reply Anonymous 3/7/06 re: Edwin Way Teale quote Within a given context, there is much truth. 51Reply Anonymous 3/7/06 re: Doris Lessing quote I'm going to assume this applies equally to the idiot thugs who seem to think they have some 'right' NOT to be offended by cartoons or speech. This would include the Christian 'fundies-faction' as well as the Islamic fundies. They don't - period. There's no such thing as a right NOT to be offended - at least not since the Spanish Inquisition. Reply Anonymous 3/7/06 re: John F. Kennedy quote Like it or not, and there ARE those who don't like it in this regressive time, occasionally JFK brilliantly articulated the sometimes overlooked obvious truth. Reply Anonymous 3/7/06 re: William Penn quote We the 'people' are NOT the government. That's why we have two different designations ('words', if you will) for the two separate entities. If you think you're the government then the guy next to you is probably Jesus Christ. 1Reply Anonymous 3/6/06 re: Robert Welch quote Who wishes to destroy the environment if he does not profit from it? And can the people not deny him these profits through a boycott? 1 Reply Anonymous 3/6/06 re: Mark Twain quote Useful as a warning, but not as a command.
