That's why there's a second amendment. Sometimes you have to shoot the tyrants when they get too out of control. Never let 'em get your guns.

I believe it's refering to the rights of industry.

Also in this famous speech by the african americanand Christian Martyr, King, was the request that one day people be judged NOT by the color of their skin, but by the contextof their creed...while cleric, King perhaps too sufferend from a couple of gaps -- the education gap in the United States which King's effort worked to erode, if not eradicate. But as Christians we learn that well, to be judged at all is, well it doesn't go along with what Christ taught. i don't wish to be judged AT ALL, and i feel it's necessary to split that sortof hair when consdering Christ and American Christain teachers, even one who was a representative of a caste that had to fight for the right o be allowed to learn to read without fear of murder. My dream personally -- and I am no King, but nonetheless I have a dream...that one day American Christians will understand the Bible..and behave as if they truly understand it.

Absolutely profound and perfectly descriptive of the state of the U.S. today.

This proves to me that we all still live in a slavery state, as we are not all free to speak our own minds, for certain fears.

TV stations should be required to dispaly today's three quotes at the beginning and end of every 'news' show.

I agree, but not enough people think of the consequences first.

Good quote. A nation must first decide its social structure and direction. Then it must decide in what way it will tax its citizens and trade partners in order to support those social goals. Taxation comes in many forms: direct taxes, inflation, discrimination and special interest group influence. It is the duty of each generation to pay for the society that they want and not pass the cost on to future generations. -- Dave Ziegler, US

There are a great number of religious zealots who would not only burn books but people in defense of 'morality'. Pictures of the naked human body are not 'obscene' or 'immoral'. The same First Amendment that protects religionists writings and pictures protects everyone else's rights as well. "Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech." The government has not been given the power to censor or prohibit speech -- period. Whether a citizen can handle the sight of a penis is not the government's concern. Licenses are only required to break the law -- there is no law to break, so no license is required. Libraries need no license to operate.

Wonderful and so apt at this moment in this so called democracy we live in.

Excellent. If we don't keep our first principles, we won't be able to keep any of the rest. If we don't protect our most basic rights of life, liberty, and property, nothing else matters.

I love this quote. I loved the book. Well, about three years after I was forced to read it, I loved it. I think part of it's appeal comes from one's mind having been opened when reading this book. And when you realize that not everybody thinks this way, you also concurrently realize that you are pretty darn lucky that you do. And to those of you who obviously don't understand this quote enough to realize it's depth and truth, I have another for you, which I say with some sarcasm: "Those who think they know everything are very annoying to us who do."
