Careful not to confuse the socialist/communist ideals with how well they were implemented. But do compare them with christian and other mystical ideals. Similarity is obvious. Sacrifice for the needy ("From him according to his ability, to him according to his need"), sacrifice for the many, your interests are secondary compared to the needs of the needy or majority. God's/States representative should be complied with.
