Walter, we've strayed from the original thread a little. Being a Libertarian I'm more or less in agreement with you. But however bloody a revolution, the intent of which being to secure liberty, might be it must be considered necessary if a people are forced into a position which demands it. I am not advocating violence here, but if the state feels intimidated it feels so because it's activities are agitating "We The People" in their normally peaceful existence. And the cotton States had in fact legally seceded. And the Confederate Constitution was to have included emancipation once they had secured autonomy from the north. It was considered too radical to include initially as the organizers of southern defense needed the support of slave owning land owners. Slavery would have died a natural death in the US as it did in much of the rest of the world. In other words that war was about control of southern resources, raw materials etc. for the industrial north...not slavery.

An armed society is a polite society. If people learned to use weapons of self defense, and actually did use them...our crime rate would drop to zero in about 6 months and the threat of tyranny would slither back under a rock and stay there.

Well Dr. Cooper....when the same state that hands down the "education agenda" that you must adhere to, relinquishes it's hold on parents to discipline and teach their own children morality and ethics....you might have an argument. What may not have been recognizable decades or centuries ago was the long term agenda of the banking elite to eventually run the planet and control every aspect of our existence. It is now more than obvious to anyone who wants to do a day's worth of research that it is the same banking elite who now "own" our governments. The only things that will negate this long term and very subtle agenda are documents like the British North America Act and the Constitution of the United States and people's determination to hold those "enshrining documents" above this controlling agenda.

I would not agree that the press in Canada is "conservative controlled" but I would say that it is not nearly as "left" as it is in the US. As a social and fiscal conservative I consider the Stephen Harper (Canada's PM) administration to be a mixed bag of nuts. He has done some very sensible things while quietly going along with a Globalist / UN agenda which in the States would be seen as a left wing policy. He wants to be seen as a main stream conservative while he sells Canada's sovereignty down the toilet...just like Obama.
In any event the Canadian press generally displays no more ethical value than it's American neighbors when you look beyond the platitudes. The truth still isn't being told in a 'truthful" manner. And I agree with Hanson in that Corporations and Government need to be separated...it's the only way to end Elitist corruption.

No normal human being wants to kill anyone. Only when there is no other way to secure their safety will any one take up and actually use arms. This is true of tyranny, oppression or a home invasion. Moral people will act in a moral manner to preserve their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
