There is nothing wrong with liberty as such. It is just that supporters of a cause can easily use weasel words to invoke a righteous ideal to oppress others.

The new oppressors called themselves the committee for public safety, even though they were extremely dangerous.

The same thing happens today and always will. So be wary.
