The comment has nothing to do with the right-wing, libertarian "I
don't wanna pay taxes!" whining. He's saying: what taxes are due, pay. It is not incumbent on you (or patriotic) to pay more than you actually owe. It is not an argument against taxation, a comment about the level of taxation, or an excuse to complain because you want something for nothing.
