This is MY take. I beleive that Winston Churchill gets the credit for the quote and that it is in reference of all those "Men" and "Women" in WWII who, out necessity and survival, answered the call of standing up to and defeating oppression. I am so thankful that they did then and now. As a SPECIAL WARFARE veteran myself, I thank all other veterans - past and present - and it would be great to be able to not have any need for new veteran's in the future because: "We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm." - Winston Churchill SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
