They put her in front of the crowd. "Teacher," they said to Jesus, "this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?" They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kep demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone." Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, BEGINNING WITH THE OLDEST, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?" "No, Lord," she said. And Jesus said, "Neither do I. God and sin no more." God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Gentiles, who seek human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it's all nonsense." the Apostle Paul. 2 Reply Ron Forberg, Decatur, GA 1/25/08 re: Benjamin Franklin quote There are, perhaps, three options to the statement Jesus made to his friends -- "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me" -- 1) he was a deceiver, 2) he was self-deceived, or 3) he was who he claimed to be. Relative to freedom, he said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" implies a personal relationship that is beyond mere intellectual comprehension. Old Ben was a brilliant man, however, the Apostle Paul said, "God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom." Rom 3:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 6:23 "For God loved the world so much that He gave is one and only Son...." John 3:16 What's religion got to do with it! 1Reply Ron Forberg, Decatur, GA 12/17/07 re: Thomas Y. Bayard quote "It is imperative the American people understand the bonds between personal, political and economic (and religious) are indissoluble. Personal and political freedom is impossible without financial freedom." William E. Simon . "Let me issue and control a nation's economy and I care not who writes the laws." Mayer Anchel Rothschild. The chief cornerstone of the American system of government is not religious liberty, it's the love of MONEY! 1Reply Ron Forberg, Decatur, GA 12/17/07 re: Albert Einstein quote The unanswered question: WHICH TREE? "The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground -- trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ... but the Lord God warned Adam, 'You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden -- except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.'" For his intellect, Einstein is without peer. On matters of faith, however, he would leave a discussion in frustration. The wisdom of man must be seen to be believed; the wisdom of God must be believed to be seen. SaveOk2 Share on Facebook Tweet Email Print
