Individual rights give protection to the ultimate minority, the individual.  No tyranny of the majority. 

Absolutely such arrogant thinking requires not only the theft of money but the theft of individual freedom.

There is no greater good than liberty.

Human nature does not change over time. It is up to We the People to defend our liberties and we are doing a very poor job of protecting those freedoms from politics and the judiciary.

To "just another face in the crowd"

We the People are the boss, the government employees, elected officials and the military are our employees. Why should we allow our employees to have rights greater then We the People have ourselves?

History shows this statement to be 100% correct yet many in today's society are clueless and willing to have this right violated.

So very few know that is the reason and in their complacency put all of our freedoms at risk.

I would only add to this quote, "not even if they think it's in the best interest of the public"

Daniel Webster said "Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority."

Yes government greed for power and money is just as strong as it is in the private sector but far more dangerous because it can be enforced at the point of a gun and with the threat of imprisonment.

Jefferson was warning us about the exact thing we are watching happen to our society right now.
