The teaching of evolution as fact instead of theory has alot to do with taking us away from "all men are created equal ... " - our roots.

The words in our Pledge of Allegiance are good words, but they have lost their meaning. Maybe because we are not vigilant. Anonymous in Reston, are you ashamed to put your name with your negative comments? Why not own up to what you think and say?

Because of ignorance our nation is a confused state. We are no longer a republic. And because so few vote we are not a democracy. We are confused.

I agree with Waffler about keep learning something all of our lives. But what we are continuing to learn makes a diference, too. I'm not sure kids get the message in school to keep learning, and learn good things - not garbage. Never through learning.

My grandpa told me that quickness and surprise are better that brute force. He may have owned a .22 riffle. I do not own a gun, but why should I want my friends to disarm.

It is so easy to forget that all who pay taxes are shareholders. More should vote. And those elected should not forget that many voted against them.

We should learn fro history what selfish and cruel people do.
