The rich and powerful folks' acts wouldn't have to be regretted were the rich and powerful Americans, true American, I mean, the kind who can clearly see the Founding Fathers' intentions when they built America. Unfortunately, many, maybe most of them not only are not Americans, let alone true Americans, let alone appreciative of the Founding Fathers' intentions. Those do not read, they just count.

Yeah. And he also said: "God helps those who help themselves". Arguments are weapons that destroy political enemies when well-spread. The argument the democrats have "help the poor" will only be destroyed when the people can be convinced that "helping themselves" will feel better.

That kind of discernment is definitely the gist of justice; this country being so far the only one in this whole wide world indeed capable of reaching it at both the lawmakers' and people's ends, as long as the second Amendment is respected.

I like it. It is in line with the philosophy of the Founding Fathers when they built this country. The liberty of the people to attack all branches of government, state and federal, is our natural rights in this country. The first amendment is everything! It is what we are as a people.

Great statement. I wish to underline Logan's statements and to observe that that the word "democracy" is seldom found in Thomas Jefferson's writings. Also, I remember Ben Franklin saying that "democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote".

Five stars to the statement. Now, what would be the means to prevent men from being "the dupes of their own undoing?" It could be through the media, through schools and what else? By the way, I did not see the word - or an inference to it - "intellectual" in Mr. Webster's statement. I think that "intelligent" and "vigilant" are more attractive and may lead more and more people to participate in top decisions.

The political system of the United States of America was created to be so perfect that I would only equate its power with that of the sun, which sets only to rise again. I trust that its natural force, which has come from powerful minds will weather the hidden forces that come from seasonal winds.

Stimulus is spending, but spending by whom? By the Government or by the people?

The only problem is that good men are not born with a star on their forehead and, even if they were, the bad ones would tatoo a star on theirs, so it would hard to tell one from the other. That's why men must be bound by a constitution, a good one.

Paine, like Jefferson, knew of man's fragile nature. Therefore, they counted on the leaders in the Government of this country to be so inspiring - just inspiring - as to draw virtues of honesty and fairness from the leaders of industry so that an environment would be built and/or kept for everyone to pursue happiness.

It would be nice, wise, fair and well-balanced for all to listen to the Great Thomas Jefferson better, wouldn't it? His vision was nice, wise, fair and well-balanced; can anyone deny?
