Alan Bock Quote

“The median family of four ... paid $4,722 in federal taxes last year. That’s enough to pay for a new curtain for the secretary of commerce’s office, to bribe a farmer not to plant 38 acres with corn ... seven weeks of salary for a Customs man assigned to save us from the terror of high-quality, low priced foreign TV sets, or the subsidy on 6,000 bushels of wheat to prop up the Soviet regime. Surely civilization would collapse without such essential services.”

As we just recently read, "Taxes are not to benefit those who are taxed."

... and it wouldn't even put a dent into the purchase of the lowest cost weapon systems from the military-industrial complex... if you are going to throw stones, at least throw them at the real culprits...

The quote goes to show a small section of just how ridiculously our tax and spend government...taxes and spends.

Waffler, Smith

Orange County 'nuff said. If "fair and balanced" it could have said that it would pay for the life insurance annuity for our fallen soldiers etcetera. When you got your head up somewhere it does not belong you always have a lousy outlook I life. It is called omtirectimities.

Mike, Norwalk

The 'A' from Reston, the quote throws stones at real culprits. It could have expanded its stone throwing to encompass your favorite waste also. Waffler's liberal argumentum ad hominems are nonsensical as usual.

Great quote, great site. I will link to this from my Old Jarhead blog Robert A. Hall Author: The Coming Collapse of the American Republic (All royalties go to a charity to help wounded veterans) For a free PDF of the book, write tartanmarine(at)
