Freedom , Vigilance Ratings and Comments 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 4/17/12 Appropriate to its time. I wonder what Eisenhower would have thought of the Government policy of creating a nation of state educated dependants who have no concept of freedom. 1Reply Waffler, Smith 4/17/12 Freedom like the Constitution is a living thing. 1 Reply E Archer, NYC 4/17/12 It is in the hearts and minds of the People that Liberty lives or dies. The Constitution is a charter of the People to form a government -- it is only 'alive' if it is observed otherwise it is mute and without a constituency. The purpose of the Constitution is to protect the liberty of the People -- when it is used to justify dictating to the People what they may or may not plant, eat, inhale, see, read, listen to, watch, where they may or may not go, work, play, explore ... then you have the Old World order of rulers and subjects -- nothing could be further from the intention of the Constitution. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 4/17/12 Waffler, Freedom is a law of nature. The Constitution is a founding document, an enshrinement of principle set in place for all time. 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 4/17/12 Definition of CONSTITUTION 1: an established law or custom : ordinance 2a : the physical makeup of the individual especially with respect to the health, strength, and appearance of the body b : the structure, composition, physical makeup, or nature of something 3: the act of establishing, making, or setting up 4: the mode in which a state or society is organized; especially : the manner in which sovereign power is distributed 5a : the basic principles and laws of a nation, state, or social group that determine the powers and duties of the government and guarantee certain rights to the people in it b : a written instrument embodying the rules of a political or social organization ~ Merriam Webster Reply Mike, Norwalk 7/18/24 I like it. As Carlton has here stated, freedom is a law of nature issue; thus, it can NOT completely die. Freedom is inherent in the being man. Reply Fredrick William Sillik, Anytown 7/18/24 The man earns and refreshes the freedoms of the world every day, and every damn day you political boys and girls get your sheers out and try to mow those freedoms down. Virtuous freedoms threaten the children, but fortifies and strengthen the adult and all of life. The challenge continues between the harbinger of death, children with their gods, misrepresentations, and other violences, and the adults, the harbinger of life, with the valiant attitude to present the true representation of life.
