It can only be achieved by understanding.”Albert Einstein ~ Albert Einstein (1879-1955) Physicist and Professor, Nobel Prize 1921 Peace Ratings and Comments Reply J Carlton, Calgary 9/27/13 "Understanding" that aggression will be met with superior fire power. That's the reality. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 9/27/13 J Carlton, exactly right. Reply Matthew, Peoples Republik of Kalifornia 9/27/13 I don't understand this quote... let's have a war! Reply Mike, Norwalk 9/27/13 (-; Mathew ;-) I like it. Reply SCSURFR, La Mirada 9/30/13 I think this says a lot: "Of the four wars in my lifetime none came about because the U.S. was too strong." - Ronald Reagan Reply E Archer, NYC 9/30/13 As long as someone is holding power over another, there cannot be peace. Don't confuse submission with peace. SCSURFR has a point -- as long as there is concentrated power in the hands of those that seek dominion over others, there cannot be peace. As Jefferson said, I prefer dangerous liberty to a peaceful slavery. Understanding that we live in a world in which we must defend ourselves against predators can keep those predators at bay (and thus live peacefully); however, to think that one day there will be no more predators is a Utopian dream.
