Ayn Rand Quote

“When you accept money in payment for your effort, you do so only on the conviction that you will exchange it for the product of the effort of others. It is not the moochers or the looters who give value to money. Not an ocean of tears nor all the guns in the world can transform those pieces of paper in your wallet into the bread you will need to survive tomorrow. Those pieces of paper which should have been gold, are a token of honor—your claim upon the energy of the men who produce. Your wallet is your statement of hope that somewhere in the world around you there are men who will not default on that moral principle which is the root of money.”

Natural laws of economics.

Fairly accurate - a string of truth runs through the quote. For the fed note, an ocean of tears from threats and duress demand the acceptance of notes as money. Taxes and other larceny define the usurpation by falsifying understanding of money and a payment thereof. Domestic guns and worse enforce note credence. Through out the world, notes are siezure by assumption, expressd by pieces of paper. The bread you will need to survive are bartered for with credit of no intrinsic value (having no claim upon the energy of man to produce). It is the moral principle of the noble laborer, producing fruit, that is honorable, not the false token (credit usurpation) offered as money.

"Your wallet is your statement of hope that somewhere in the world around you there are men who will not default on that moral principle which is the root of money." Unfortunately today, everyone's wallet is empty except for credit cards -- we carry around debt, not money, and therefore little 'hope'...

Such clear and intelligent description of where wealth actually comes from is not heard much anymore.
