Charles E. Wilson Quote

“The revulsion against war ... will be an almost insuperable obstacle for us to overcome. For that reason, I am convinced that we must begin now to set the machinery in motion for a permanent wartime economy.”

fast forward to King George W and we find they succeeded and we are now being sold on the "forever war II"

We were warned about the military-industrial complex.

Mike, Norwalk

King George is but the latest war monger in a chain of war mongers over an otherwise bankrupt economy of moral and tangibly fiscal values

E Archer, NYC

One of those quotes hard to rate since a high rating would seem to equate with agreeing with it and a low-the reverse. Well, knowing one's enemy is important so I think it is important to bring such blatant barbarianism to light.

Joe, Rochester, MI

War runs the world. Look how many we are currently involved in. Those claiming to be pacifists are simply overrun by anyone with a gun. Those without sophisticated weapons are only able to fight as insurgents (i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan). UN confiscation of small arms from groups of people leaves them vulnerable to groups who still have guns. This is why genocide occurs in places like Darfur. Thank God in the United States "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Mark, Lexington

To say that we can opt out of the war machine is naive. Vigilance of our leaders is our advantage, not our shortcoming.
