This new word 'homeland' is being spoken more and more -- it was never used until GW got in office. Sounds like the Nazis to me. We don't secure freedom at home by taking away rights that protect us from government abuse of power. Congress is to blame for letting him do it -- and the People are to blame for not remembering that this is only the land of the free if it is the home of the brave.

I guess we have a lot of people in here that can read any thing that Bush has said and interpret it to mean any thing they want. The selection of this quote is what I question. Why quote someone that is saying an obvious truth that doesn't reveal anything about the person that said it or any thing else. I would be more interested in knowing what stupid question was asked by whom to get this answer from him. I doubt that there is any person commenting on this site that has not uttered something that was not quotable material. The problem with this quote isn’t that it is wrong or shows some deeper meaning, it is just dull.

That is why the soldiers on the carrier put up the banner. They had a mission to depose Sadam and that was completed successfully. The press, as always, twisted it to mean something else. I may not like every thing that Bush has done but I wouldn't want to try to base my disagreements on any thing but fact. The war in Iraq is OVER. Saddam: dead. His regime: dead. Weapons of mass destruction: well, we sold them everything (that's why we 'knew' he had them): gone. Their oil: ours. Their Constitution: written and in place. Let them take care of the rest. Truth is, we will NEVER be gone -- just like Europe, Israel, Central America, Korea, you name it -- once the American military comes, they stay. Get over it and bring our service men/women home. There would be no wars if wars were financed with taxes. How do we know that wars are not financed with taxes? Well, we cannot pay taxes with dollar bills that the IRS said "are not dollars" nor with credit. The Fed wrote that their system of plunder "works only with credit." The IRS (Imaginary Revenue Scum) asks no one for money, they only ask for paper. If paper is money, why would the New York Times give 5 pounds of money *( their newspaper) for a strip of paper that may not weigh 1/50 of an ounce?

We found nuke triggers, saran gas, and mustard gas. 500 canisters of saran gas were found but the press considered the matter closed so it dropped the story on it as fast as it could. "It has already been established that there were no weapons of mass destruction" one pundit said as an excuse for continuing the diatribe of "no weapons of mass destruction" in spite of the obvious facts in front of him. Just because he had them doesn’t change the fact that he didn't. That is a sample of the reasoning of the press and the American left. You can only start to understand it if you realize that to them the concept of truth is totally arbitrary- "what serves the party IS the truth".
