Excellent insight by a founding father and excellent reasoning for fighting any defense on foreign soil rather than right here at home. Always prepare for the train wreck...but pray that it never happens. Americans need to get this philosophy through our thick, lazy minds.

kg, You're not actually suggesting we just go ahead and attack imaginary enemies before they attack us are you? That is absolutely NOT what the Constitution advocates at all.

Expect the worst when dealing with human beings because that's what you'll usually get if you allow it. Often, however, you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get the best.

Now that the democratic oligarchy has replaced the 'Guaranteed Republic', we need prepare to regain our government.

Hence the intended balance of powers in our republican form of government -- why? Because the ruling class cannot be trusted with too much power.
