Georgie Anne Geyer Quote

“An idea is growing in foreign policy circles in Washington … that there is no turning back. We are stuck in Iraq and Afghanistan for 25 to 40 years, we are embedded in our prideful unilateralism, and nothing can return us to more traditional American values and principles of action. The hubristic creators of this “inevitability” planned it this way. … Their failures in Iraq have not stopped the fanatic, power-hungry neoconservatives. … The hard-liners who dominate this administration … have led us to eternal conflict with Muslims.”

The Extremist Muslims have led us to eternal conflict with the Muslims, not the imbeciles to whom we've foolishly entrusted our right of "flight or fight". The so called "hard-liners" at least let us show a good front - vs the ultra-liberals who would have backed of and then complained of how their new Muslim leaders mistreated them.

What Gorgie Anne Geyer and so many liberals never mention is that all non-Muslims are in an eternal conflict with Islam, because Islam declares it to be so. Whether or not we are in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Egypt, or Sudan, or anywhere else the Muslims claim as Holy, or even if we stay home. Islam is unalterably opposed to freedom of conscience wherever it exists.

Perhaps Ms Geyer should take a history class or two. The conflict between Christian and Muslim is not a new concept. Ever heard of a think called the Crusades? How about Thomas Jefferson, the creation of the Marines and Tripoli? This is not a situation where if we leave them alone they will leave us alone. According to their doctrine all non-muslims are infidels and must be converted or purged. Islam is the religion, shira is the law, jihad is the right. Stand up, fight, or be conquered. Or, better idea, hop on a plane to Arabia and plead your case in person Ms. Geyer. RWH - Christian::US Natural born citizen:: Patriot

From an internet source, I would compare our long term involvement in the Middle East to Orwell's concept of perpetual war...."An example of doublethink in George Orwell's novel 1984. The totalitarian government of Oceania is constantly at war with one of the other two totalitarian superpowers that dominate the world: Eurasia and Eastasia. The objective is not to win the war, but to maintain a constant state of war in order to keep its citizens under control. When it is at war with Eastasia, the government declares that it has always been at war with Eastasia, that its people are an eternally hated enemy that must be destroyed. When the sides change, the same thing is said about Eurasia. It is considered every patriotic citizen's duty to believe both statements are true."

Not shooting the leftest author, on this point she is absolutely correct. The quote is deceptive and far from the whole story but, true on its face. Islam is not a religion of love, peace or equality. It is a religion that embraces policies and statutes (carnal man's laws) as devastating to the principles and applications of freedom and liberty as the statist theocracy infesting this land. I'm not sure what Ms Geyer's definition of traditional American values and principles is because by her writings, it differs radically from the founders. True Christian patriots would convert the Muslim through love and faith and only resort to violence in defense. Much of Christianity today is at odds with Christ's teaching, that being Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: (Matt 5:44, 45) The hubristic unilateralists have fed on Islams anti-natural law dogmas to create a brotherhood of hate cells that grow like a disease consuming all in their path. I have been to the middle east and found most people wanting the same things all people want while not understanding the violence. One worlders, with their hubristic unilateral patron puppets have financed and created a scenario that can only play out in a mass genocide of humanity. Blow-back is a real scenario; how will it end?

Carlton, well said.

@Carlton: "I would compare our long term involvement in the Middle East to orwell's concept of perpetual war." Orwell was describing war between equivalent totalitarian regimes, not wars between ideological opposites. Lovers of freedom and democratic republics have a lot to lose against a motivated worldwide Islamic jihad. Force must be used to stop it.

After 50 years in media, I am still amazed that people like Ms. Geyer still get a podium to spew out her vitriol on the masses. However, it is hard for me to understand why Liberty Quotes would feature her. If it is fairness, forget it, the other side has had it all their way for ever. I am disappointed in Liberty Quotes giving time and space to the likes of Geyer. Commentator Scott Rumford RI had it right. "Force must be used to stop it." And were the Jihadists to take over, like the communists Ms. Geyer would be one of the first to be executed because she would not be trusted. Stick with what your names says -- LIBERTY QUOTES.

Ms. Geyer came up with a novel idea for who is to blame for the country's misguided policies: the Jews. What an original thinker!

You're all lost in a sea of delirium...

@ Scott RI : Point taken. However I take into account the US Foreign Policy in the Middle East sinse the 2nd WW. The policy od installing dictators "friendly" to US interests, currency and economic manipulation and basic arrogance towards the people of those nations. 60 years of it has not earned us their friendship, but has earned us their animosity. The CIA has a term for it..."Blowback". So while I agree with you that we have a problem that will likely require force to solve, I do not condone the actions that brought that situation about. that being said....don't get me started on Viet Nam. We lost control of our government a long time ago and it's time to clean house. Be well, Scott.

I think few understand that democracy in the U. S. has been covertly subverted by the hardliners just as the wise Ms. Geyer describes it.

Dave Wilber, St. Louis

No, the republic was subverted and replaced with this God-forbidden unconstitutional democracy. Democracy is majority rule be they good or be they evil. "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil." Exodus 23:2 The Constitution mandates a republican form of government, Art.4 Sec 4. We will have endless wars that will not cost taxpayers one cent! Taxes cannot be paid with dollar bills that the IRS said "are not dollars" nor with credit. The Federal Reserve said their system works us "only with credit" that would keep its value "if there were fewer people bidding against each other." Wars certainly leave fewer people bidding whether the wars are military or biological, chemical, economic, psychological or chemical warfare. Cow's milk causes a disease for every letter of the alphabet. www.not milk.com. Chemical warfare includes alum, alloxan, aspartame, chlorine, fluoride, MSG, high fructose, nitrites, Splenda and more. Religious wars have killed more people than all other wars combined. Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Hindus have been killing each other with clean consciences for eons. Hypocrisy is a trait of all fundamentalists. I suppose those that have given this quote a thumbs down would support simply blowing the Muslims to kingdom come, or should I say to hell. Isn't that the only way to get rid of such an abominable faith? Funny how US forces are used to secure access and control of foreign resources, oil for the most part, often referred to as 'American interests.' So I suppose as long as American interests reside in other people's countries, it justifies whatever manner of death we can inflict upon them. War is hell, and the US has been a bit too eager to 'give 'em hell.' It is in fact, NOT the Christian thing to do...
