Most truths were born as heresy. Reply EGL, LA 9/4/06 At the edge of the unknown man conveniently posits a higher authority that cannot be questioned as the source of truth. These systems of thought are turned into dogma that the undiscriminating thinker is easily seduced by. Those throughout history who have questioned the status quo of power and authority in both religion and politics have been attacked as heretics-the easy out for those in authority who want to eliminate opposition. From Copernicus to the Salem witches to those today who fight against the rigid authoritarianism of the Bush administration and its fundamentalist religious base it is fairly easy to see who is in the right. Reply E Archer, NYC 9/4/06 Express your own thoughts to religionists, and they will pray for your soul -- if you are lucky. If you are unlucky, there's a good chance that you will be treated as a devil. Reply Joe, Rochester, MI 9/5/06 Reply Anonymous 8/28/08 Reply Anonymous 2/25/09 Cool. Reply Mike, Norwalk 1/29/13 Any article of faith, belief, creed, opinion, school of thought or theory (with or without a related action) at variance with an orthodox or generally accepted doctrine, especially of a religious system, expresses an inalienable right to think for one’s self. The occupying statist theocracy infesting this land, along with its patrons and anti-law of nature and nature’s God canons are making heresies to its creeds and accepted life styles a dangerous proposition. Though heresies may or may not be truthful or beneficial, they still exist at freedom of thought. Freedom (of thought and otherwise) is found outside the occupying statist theocracy’s socialistic box. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 1/29/13 One mans religion is another man's heresy. Of course if you are a Muslim, everyone else is a heretic and subject to conversion or death. If you doubt this, read the koran. Reply jim k, Austin, Tx 1/29/13 Freedom of thought is a death sentence in Muslim countries. Read, "Marked for Death" by Geert Wilders, a member of the Dutch Parliament.
