Greg Sargent Quote

“... political reporters love to write about politics as if they are merely disinterested observers of political events and the public's perceptions of them, when in fact they play a very key role in shaping those events and perceptions.”

The dangerous part of this is, since World War II - and during it to some extent - the press has not been interested in being recorders and clarions of truth. Since the advent of television and even radio to some extent, creation of media stars has made this an ego - driven, competitive vocation attracting to it not the not the altruistic naif with a curious bentand an aptitude for the written word, but drama queens ( Brian Willliams, Geraldo Rivera) and quasi - sages (Walter Cronkite, Ted Koppel) just to name a few.

Truer now than ever. Legacy MSM companies which are not profitable anymore are still maintained for propaganda purposes. Magazines like Time and Newsweek are propped up to help keep the propaganda flowing -- they are expenses in the business of progressive liberalism. The New York Times and Washington Post are now merely for maintaining the narrative for the powers-that-should-not-be. This narrative attempts to redefine anything and everything in order to delude and confuse the common people, to literally redefine who we are. Identity-politics is furthering a victim-consciousness which becomes currency for politicians and the massive communications apparatus that preys upon the hearts and minds of the people, turning them into whining sheep. But as long as there are people who think and reason and question assumed authority, the delusion will not hold.

Everyman ! In the Shakespearian sense, is the self righteous pose of journalism. Since man has been writing, and presumably prior to that event, those without power have been mocking, criticizing and pseudo-praising the powerful and social elite. Assuming society reached the stage where there was some form of social hierarchy. Critical journalism does not so much write the truth as mock lies and, as it must express such mockery in terms accessible to the lower, or lowest, common social denominator the writing itself is usually not very good. It is interesting to note: Shakespeare has been one of the few social commentators who walked the line between common opinion and great writing. So let us not laud the freedom of the press to the point where they tell people not so much what they need to hear; but what they want to hear through "pseudographia".

The main stream press ,with few exceptions, promote the left wing agenda. Anything that goes against their agenda, they simply ignore.

Those that parade themselves as "political reporters" are nothing more than ecclesiastical propagators attempting to advance the most current occupying statist theocracy infesting the land's dogmas and agendas. Events are mere back drops to support the newest sound bite, facts are obscured to push ulterior motives, and that which would be recognizable as truth is replaced with off topic interpretations, half-truths, and outright lies.
