Agree! Once they found a name for crime on gays or on anybody with color they named it a "Hate Crime". Thing is, any crime that does another harm is done in Hate. It does not need a special meaning.

This monstrosity known as the War on Drugs is a perfect example.

Yep! The laws (especially tax laws) are vague and designed "to be interpreted" in almost every case. In this way, no one is able to know what is lawful and what is not. It makes it easy for the tax agencies to do whatever they want to whoever they want. A Crime in itself, don't you think?

I agree with you 100% on the "War on Drugs" Jim K. It has created not only as a cash cow for the government but also for the trial lawyers. The U.S. Constitution should have disallowed any lawyers/attorneys to run for office, because under their influence in the legislature they have created laws and bureaucracies to abudently benefit their chosen field to the detriment of the wallets of the populous.

Crimes and laws without an enforcement mechanism ain't worth the paper they are written on. If you have a law and/or a criminal statute you best better have a cop and/or investigator. The wild wild west knew or at least learned this why don't folk know it now? I give the quote a thumbs down for pure stupidity and a huge duh factor!

J Carlton, Calgary

Waffler, once again you make the case for idiots of all stripes. The wild west wasn't wild (unless you think Hollywood is accurate) and laws such as we have are merely tools of control without a justice system, and we could use one of those too. You're problem is that you buy into all the crap you were taught by a school and the TV. Ergo; your head is filled with garbage thinking...

There is no more presumption of innocence in the US -- all of us are suspects. hence the police checks, body searches, and warrantless surveillance all around us. And over and over we discover that the preponderance of crime among law enforcement personnel is equal to that found among the public, so we have only given away our own rights in order to make our 'enforcers' more powerful even though they are no more innocent than the rest of us. This is how the mafia operates, and it is an old practice. Waffler made his living as a federal tax collector, so he knows how important it is that we do not ever mention that the Emperor has no clothes -- that could be bad for business!

Archer, I didn't know that about Waffler. I guess that explains the sociopathic mental illness he displays so regularly. Poor (malignant) guy...

The quote is great. But points out a sad reality. Enjoyed rearing the comments, too.

The western territories of the Unted States suffered from lack of law and order. Because of this, vigilante groups of citiznes on occasion, took matters into their own hands, Ancient and current history shows us what happens when law and order are removed from societies. Most of y'all, I must assume have never heard of the down fall of law and order during times of disasters or governmental callapse. I feel it would be foolish of me to mention places like Watts, New Orleans, Baghdad, etcetera to such a group of louts. So I wont. (As for vigilante groups I think they would be right up Mies alley, sort of like private militias. Would you like that Mike?)
