That is to say that all have the right to be armed and trained in the use of arms, but none can be compelled to join the ranks of the military -- militia or otherwise. So we have the right to possess arms whether we wish to serve in the militia or not.

Infringement examples: My handguns are registered (for eventual confiscation); I can't buy a machinegun without government permission (FFL, costly fees, inspections at any hour, etc.); People in California can't own .50 caliber guns; Requiring a CCW to "bear" arms; Felons who have served their time are unable to own guns, even for self-defense (if they are still dangerous criminals, they should still be in prison)...
