Liberty is deserved by all simply because they exist. In a land of tyranny and despotism (such as is the statist theocracy that infests this land), those most valiant in seeking to realize their birthright will have the greatest happiness, joy and fulfillment. I believe it a moral obligation (as is averse to a lawful mandate or command) for each individual of substance to daily seek liberty and justice for all. Reply cal, lewisville, tx 2/19/10 Goethe lived in a time of the "divine right of kings" instead of people. Reply Anonymous 2/19/10 1 Reply J Carlton, Calgary 2/19/10 Supports the idea that we must be vigilant of our natural Liberty in the face of man made tyranny. The Liberty Tree must occasioanlly be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots. (G. Washington?) 1 Reply cal, lewisville, tx 2/19/10 no Carlton, that great quote comes from my favorite president, Thomas Jefferson. Reply J Carlton, Calgary 2/19/10 Thanks Cal. 2 Reply E Archer, NYC 2/19/10 I must agree. Even the heirs to Liberty must keep it in tact. I believe it is a constant effort -- at least as far as having to act responsibly and keeping oneself unchained to a host of cons ever promoted to us throughout life. We may be able to free a man from prison, but only he can keep himself out. Yes, Liberty is inherent, but so is the Responsibility of abiding by the Laws of Nature for which violations have unavoidable consequences whether intended or not. Liberty is not easy -- sometimes it is quite hard, thus the virtue of Courage is necessary. Reply RBESRQ 2/19/10 For which there are very, very, few - we will never have freedom from bureaucracy and therefore no Liberty Reply Johann Hollar, Saint Paul 2/20/10 1 Reply Wayne, Naples 2/20/10 We all deserve liberty. To keep it, though, we must be vigilant. Reply Al, DC 10/26/20 Reply Ronw13, Idaho 10/26/20 As fighting the French when approaching his bedroom door !
