In context as an abstract overall, I'm afraid it is far to accurate, far to often. The demonic / sick heart and mind feeds itself through greater and greater acts of immorality, debauchery and depravities.

We are by nature predatory animals at the top of the pyramid.  To be an honorable and 'civilized' man, I know that I must keep my bloodlust in check.  I endeavor to transcend these base desires and live according to my promises and principles.  I am for Peace and will promote it rather than war.  I am grateful every day for not having to slit someone's throat. ;-)
