There is always time for a little comic relief. (one of the several Amendments that violates Article IV Section 4 and the politicians oath of office, making the entirety thereof completely void ab initio in a de jure Representative Republic)

Notice that after the Civil War, amendments to the Constitution now restricted the rights of the People instead of restricting further the powers of the government. The original intent of the Constitution was to serve as a rule book for the government, not the people. We now have become so used to the idea that Congress and the President don't even bother to amend the Constitution seeing that we will do whatever they say anyway whether they have the Constitutional authority or not. We are becoming the dumbest free republic in the world -- which means that it won't be long until our servitude is complete.

The President went ahead and signed Campaign Finance Reform even though he knew it was unconstitutional, expecting the Supreme Court to strike it down. It turned out the Supreme Court didn't care about the Constitution any more than he did and upheld it.
