In the grand scheme of things, what are 3,000 American lives, really? We should at least up that to 3,000 a day and attack Iran and N. Korea, while we're at it. How many millions of people do we have in our country? We can stand to off a few soldiers here and there, can't we? I love war. I love taking it to other nations that haven't actually attacked us. How about you? I hate the Monroe Doctrine. I hate the Constitutional parameters that say that Congress must wage war. I would that our President just go ahead and send our troops over to attack other nations at his own whim; that is, just so long as it's in accordance with popularity. I love doing unto others before they can do unto me. How about you?

Logan, I think you're crazy as a shit house rat! Be that as it may, I came here to say that everyone I talk to remembers the war they were in (as a serviceman) as "the best years of my life." I had a hellova good time. (Of course, I lived... and I didn't come home maimed.)

I think Reek missed Logan's sarcasm. I also think as long as wars don't touch personally the general media, populace, and politicians' home, work, or play zones, they will fondly, as a requisite, allow police skirmishes and war. (If actually attacked first, it is another story)

The horror of the extreme point we have arrived at where we are about to witness an escalation in the Iraq War can only elicit the parody of interpretation that Logan so passionately delivers. The height of absurdity that Bush's "one thought" is to grow our troops there after both the mandate of the voters and the considered and serious input of the Iraq Study Group could be summarily ignored is reason for impeachment and leaves the observer (we are certainly not participants) with the only counter position which is one of cynicism and sarcasm.

It is also well known that some of the most eloquent anit-war statements have come from the mouths of warriors-MacArthur, Lee, Powell, Eisenhower and more.

I think the US government is VERY fond of war -- a point that Americans conveniently ignore. How many Americans would have thought that once the US secured miltary supremacy in the world that it would exercise that power to impose US imperialistic policies around the world? We were supposed to be the defenders of peace and freedom...

I like it because he tells how war is going to go and it was well said.
